If you are a cat owner, there is a thing you must know if you want to train your cat – catnip. If that a kind of food and why cats are so crazy about it? In fact, catnip also known as catmint and catswort which is an herb plant belongs to the mint family. This kind of plant is for cats to smell or they will eat it. But you may ask, does catmint effect on dog? I would like to say no.
Everything has weakness. For dogs, it is delicious food and maybe their owners’ shoes. For most cats, it is catnip. Catmint leaves and flowers can trigger chemicals in a cat brain that lead to bout of energetic euphoria on laid-back laziness. For that reason, dried catnip and cat-laced toys make regular appearances on pet store shelves. Since this plant can be a training tool to your cat, it is easy to grow. If you possess a green thumb can grow catnip form catnip seeds after the last hard frost of the season, as a perennial, this herbaceous flowering plant will return each year with proper care. Keep in mind that catnip requires plenty of room to grow and flourish, much like most felines. Once it grows, you will have the most popular house in the neighborhood – at least among the feline population.
However, if you are not a garden lover, just like me, you can find catnip online. As for me, I purchase catnip on eBay. Catnip is inexpensive and just a little amount of it can be use a while. For better training your cat or stop her from scratching furniture, you can add some catmint to her cat toys and her bed. Besides, you can add water and some catmint to a sprayer to train your cat easier.
Even though catnip is a great training tool, use with care. Once cat get a whiff of catnip, it’s better to leave them alone until they’ve lost that loving feeling. Catnip also can cause excessive drooling, so you may want to retrieve those cat toys after use.
