Prepare a well-ventilated crate or carrier to keep your dog safe and secure. According to your pet’s size, you can decide what is suitable. He could injured by flying objects and keep him in the back seat in his crate or with a harness attached to a seat buckle.
Make sure that all the dog stuff is ready for your furry friend. Prepare a travel-feeding schedule; it should start with a light meal three to four hours prior to departure. Do not feed him in a moving vehicle even if it is a long trip. Besides, leash, plastic bags, grooming supplies, medication and toys or pillow are needed for pooch to give him a sense of familiarity.
Last but not least, ensure your pet has a microchip for identification and wears a collar with a tag imprinted with your home address, as well as a temporary travel tag with your cell phone or any other relevant contact information.
