Instruction of Setting up Underground Electric Dog Fence
It is estimated that more than 1,000,000 dogs are hit by cars and 60,000 are lost and stolen every year. Since dogs like to run and explore everywhere, the chance that they get injured is even higher. It is important to train your dog to stay in the safe zone. Now with the help of a dog fence shock collar, your dog’s safety will be strongly guaranteed. Setting up the electric fence may be a little bit complicated for some of you. Read the following instruction and learn how to create safe zones for you dog.
This is one of the most useful dog products to train your dog. Basically, the whole system includes a dog shock collar, a transmitter, a roll of fence wire, training flags and some other mounting hardware. Before you set up the system, you need to fully understand their function. The transmitter is used to connect the border. The dog fence shock collar is what gives the dog its lesson via shock therapy. It is waterproof. The electrical wire can sense the wireless signal of the shock collar to let the dog know if he crosses the border. Training flags is what you put along the border and this helps you and your dog understand where the wire is buried and where the border is located.
To make sure the whole system functions well, you need to design where the wire should lay. Make a draft about the border and make sure it is at least 10ft away from your neighbors’ fence.
Otherwise, it may cause signal interference. Keep in mind that only if the wire is connected as a loop, the electric fence can work properly.
Then connect one end of the wire to the transmitter and start to lay the wire along the designed boundary. Connect the other end to the transmitter to complete the circuit.
During this process, the wire must lay on the ground until you have the fence tested. To test it, you have to take the shock collar with you and walk along the border.
Once the warning beep and the light work, you can start to bury the wire. Half an inch will be okay.
Place the training flags along the wire to remind your dog the safe zone. You have to train your dog several times a day to help him get used to the electric fence.
