As cat owners, we do hope our cats be happy and healthy. Generally, there are three essential parts to keep cat happy and healthy: feeding part, grooming part and playing part. Among these three part, feeding part is obviously a vital part of pet ownership but people always ignore then make cats become overweigh and unhealthy.
Even though you love your cat, feed your cat a quality diet is necessary. ‘You are what you eat’ is a solid piece of common sense that is just as true for your cat as it is for you. Hence, here are some feeding tips to your cat.
Cats have habits of possession so you may spend some bucks to buy a pet cat shape bowl to feed them. Feed a high quality balanced premium commercial food that is appropriate for the life stage and health status of your cat. You can offer some natural foods to provide some variety. Natural foods include fresh raw meat and raw meaty bones. Raw food offered to cats should always be fresh. Choose human-grade raw meat and raw meaty bones because some pet meat/pet mince/pet rolls/pet meat and bone products can contain preservatives which can be detrimental to the cat’s health.
Avoid large marrow bones, large knuckle bones or bones sawn lengthwise as cats may crack their teeth on these. Never feed cooked bones as these may splinter and cause internal damage or become an intestinal obstruction. Please check that raw bones are suitable for your particular cat with your vet. Fish such as tinned sardines in spring water; tinned tuna and tinned salmon can also be offered as a treat occasionally, put them in pet feeder so you cats will walk to eat. Please avoid feeding fish constantly. Cooked meat such as boiled chicken may also be offered occasionally, please ensure there are no cooked bones, onions/onion sauces or other toxic substances present.
